Enhancement-Feature Request: version comparison

I've been slowly working on a small project and would love for there to be an easy way to do a side-by-side comparison of multiple versions. Currently I have a notepad and copy each in, exporting it, then placing it on a sheet in Inkscape.

Uncertain the best way to go about this. One thought was to have a way to "pin" a version, which would add it to a comparison list. Whenever you want to compare, there's a button that displays all of the versions using some sort of masonry with scroll bars and symbols to be able to remove items.
