Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'generateKey')

Hi all,
I've just installed homechart via docker-compose, as proposed in the official documentation. The two containers spin up, I navigate to the webpage and want to sign up with my email address and receive the following error:

Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'generateKey')

Login does no proceed. There is no page reload or anything, also no entries in jsconsole.

Hey there, are you running Homechart without HTTPS?

Interesting, looks like there's a bug with running Homechart like that. Homechart uses Web Crypto to secure various things, and Web Crypto doesn't work without HTTPS (typically). This appears to break some stuff in the UI. I'll file a bug for this, but it may take some time to resolve. For now, using a SSL/TLS certificate should fix this.

Need to think about the best way to resolve this--if we allow HTTP, stuff like the Secrets module and future modules like Messaging won't work,

I usually run my services behind a reverse proxy with SSL-offloading. Would that be sufficient to avoid this bug?

Just a quick feedback: I am now running homechart behind the reverse proxy, with a valid SSL certificate and everything seems to work! Thanks for your help! But you should definitely mention this in the docs ;-)

This should be fixed now without HTTPS, though the Secrets module won't work. Not sure if you want to test, please keep it behind HTTPS! 😁
