What's the issue?

Also I can see this popup when overring on the materialized button in Dagster+

Telling me that something is probably different between the 2 dagster instance.

Is this an issue?

If it's not, why are the 2 numbers so different?

What did you expect to happen?

That the number of assets with dagster ui locally and in dagster+ be the same for the same code.

How to reproduce?

I don't know exactly what's different between the 2 counts, so I can't say.

But I've run the commands dagster asset list in order to count the number of assets in the project, and this returned the number shown in Dagster. The number in Dagster+ is way over.

Deployment type

Dagster Cloud

Deployment details

Using Dagster+ serverless

Hey @marcilj thanks for reporting this 👋 - I think what may be happening here is that your older Dagster install has some materializations for assets that are no longer defined in your code locations. (For example, if you materialized an asset and then renamed it)

An easy way to check is to open the Filter bar and choose "Select All" in the Code Location filter. That will narrow your view to just the assets that are defined in a code location, and the numbers should match.

It may not be worth worrying about, but if you'd like you can choose "Wipe Materializations" on the orphaned materializations to remove them from your original Dagster install.
