Exchangelib not working since yesterday when i try to log to my outlook emails

i want to tell me why the library exchangelib not working since yesterday. I tried this code:

from exchangelib import Credentials, Account, DELEGATE, HTMLBody

credentials = Credentials("my email address", "my password")

But i got this error whereas before it has been worked normaly:

Well, the error says your credetials are not valid? Either because they are in fact not valid, or because the authentication method you specified is no longer supported by the server.

Hi @ecederstrand ,

My credentials are correct and i tried yesterday the same code and account and it worked fine. But today i got this error which i didn't understand the raison. I think there is an issue with exchangelib because i tried with another library with the same account and it worked.
Please give me more detail about this issue because i'm building a project with a company to get emails of all clients and store them in storage platforme.

If it worked yesterday and doesn't work today, and you didn't change exchangelib in the meantime, then it's likely that something on your server changed.

Your server is returning an HTTP 401 for the credentials and the authentication method you are connecting with. exchangelib doesn't get any more details about the error than that.

So, exchangelib wasn't changed either. What makes you conclude that exchangelib is at fault here? Your server is no longer accepting credentials that it accepted before Wednesday.

I've had this problem many times, and it has always been because credentials were in fact not valid, or because the authentication method was not supported by the server.

In this case, since your error message mentions outlook.office365.com, it's probably because Office365 doesn't support Basic authentication, and hasn't for about a year.
