vscode-eslint seems to change from diagnostic pull instead of push. Who needs to know about that?

So, recently I started to realize I didn't get any diagnostics from eslint anymore. A little bit of research revealed this happened due to newer versions of vscode-langservers-extracted (4.8.0 works, 4.9.0 and 4.10.0 do not). I understand this project just repackages the upstream stuff from microsoft so I went there and saw the following in the changelog of the pre-release 3.0.5: "Converted the server to use diagnostic pull instead of push."
If I assume vscode-langservers-extracted just repackages everything (also the pre-releases, it seems like it because the release dates do seem to correlate) then the servers behavior did change between those versions and it would make sense the lsp clients do no longer work without changes.
Now, my question would be: Where would the changes have to happen to deal with this. I'm currently using neovim 0.9.5 with lspconfig. Does lsp-config need to know about this? Is this something that needs change in neovim? Or maybe it's just a simple configuration thing?

Seems to be fixed with v0.10.0
