Hello. I purchased nomacs as it is an extremely useful image-viewing application which, at the time supported .webp file formats. Nomacs has updated today, 24-01-24 and .webp file format no longer opens in nomacs. I have looked at my preferences and it appears the file format is no longer supported.

Is this a minor issue that will be resolved or has support for .webp files now stopped?

To me, all .webp files are opening without any issues

using nomacs version 3.17.2289 [x64], which I recently updated between 21.01 and 24.01.

Same problem here, webp support was broken in 3.17.2288, which is latest.

Where did you get this version? Official site is dead, and github release offers old 3.16 versions.

In my case, when opening any image, a small window popped up with a message like "a new version has been released, would you like to upgrade?" so I clicked the button, the program downloaded, and the installation started.

Try clicking on ? and then on "Check for updates". What kind of message will appear?

I did have the same problem, was in version 3.17.2289 and webp images didnt load. I was able to fix it by downloading again from git release and installing again (even though it's not a clean install). The first time I installed nomacs was through chocolatey and I dont remember from where I updated to latest, so probably some dependency error

I seem to have the same issue and it seems only webp is affected.

Error Message: "Sorry, I could not load: filename.webp"
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro N
nomacs: 3.17.2289 [x64]
(Consider making the version selectable so that it can be copied out. Interesting design choice forcing the "About Nomacs" screen all the way to the front, above even the active window.)

This is a bug in the installer which cause the WEBP plug-in to be deleted during upgrade from old versions.

Temporary solution is to making clean install or to repair install.

It's a bit weird to "hide" these releases on GitHub and also label them as beta pre-releases when they're actually offered as regular releases in the application itself.
