Pre-Submit Checklist:

What worked?

Using Portmaster without VPN.

What did not work?

I can't browse anything on the Internet when turning on my VPN alongside Portmaster. I initially used Express VPN, then turned that off as it's incompatible. Used the recommended OpenVPN to the same result.

Not the most comfortable with tech, but have tried following the Q&A and added 127.0.0.1 via:

  • Ctrl + I > Network & Internet > Change Adapter Options > WiFi > Properties > TCP/IPv4 > Properties > Use the following DNS Server Address.
  • and adding dhcp-option DNS 127.0.0.1 to my OpenVPN client Config (.ovpn file)

Debug Information:

Body's too long, I can send it privately if given the option!

Hey @daintycook, thank you for reporting on a compatibility.

We keep a list of compatible software and user provided guides for improving compatibility in the wiki - please have a look there.
If you can't find your software in the list, then a good starting point is our guide on How do I make software compatible with Portmaster.

If you have managed to establish compatibility with an application, please share your findings here. This will greatly help other users encountering the same issues.
