Has this been defined? The above is easy to remove, looking to understand if there's guidance on how we apply this? If not, I am happy to look into a consistent way to do note/citations.

I believe these are unrelated. I am not sure how to fix this issue, but the other one can definitely fixed by modifying https://github.com/trigaten/remark-bibtex
