  • Wavebox Version: 10.120.20.2
  • Operating System & Version: Windows 11

Bug/Feature description

When pinning web apps to the taskbar, they lose their icon and when starting it again, it just displays the default "My first Workspace" instead of the app.

Steps to reproduce (if applicable)

  1. Click on the burger menu and select "Desktop Web Apps"
  2. Select new app (in this case Google Calendar) and select the respective cookie container (I chose 'new'), name, icon & colors
  3. Start the web app from the Desktop web app menu
  4. On the taskbar, right-click and select "Pin to Taskbar"
  5. => Icon is reverted to standard Wavebox icon and all settings are lost, when clicking the icon, the default workspace is loaded

Thanks for reporting. This is something we're looking into and hoping to get a fix out for soon. In the meantime, there is a workaround which might help...

  1. Remove the existing pinned item from the taskbar
  2. Click on the burger menu and select "Desktop Web Apps"
  3. Right-click on the app and choose "Create shortcuts"
  4. In the popup that appears, pick "Pin to taskbar" and if Windows prompts if you want to do this, confirm

Thanks for the workaround but unfortunately, there is no pop-up after right-clicking and selecting "Create Shortcut"...
Is there any setting I could have inadvertently changed that prevents pop-up windows from opening?

Oh drats, it looks like the web apps panel auto-dismisses when the popup appears. You should be able to do it, if you open wavebox://apps in a tab. I'll get a fix in for that too 👍

That worked, thanks a lot!
Should I close here now or leave it open as the underlying problem is still there?

That was quick, newest update from 17Jan2024 solves both problems (reverting when pinning & the right-click pop-up)!

Feel free to keep it open. I'll try to take a look into the underlying issue for the next release cycle 👍
