A question for people here, in the ${1:Author} placeholder, is there a way to use the unix env var $USER to auto fill the username? That'd be cool.

@OkelleyDevelopment do you have any suggestions on how to use env var $USER to populate the ${1:AUTHOR} placeholder automatically?

Also, I've used these perl snippets, would you mind reviewing and merging them? Thanks!

These look good. Regarding your question, give me some time to brainstorm (I've got a few ideas, but would like to test them first).
